Limnobium laevigatum
A decorative floating plant native to South America, Limnobium laevigatum thrives in both open and traditional aquariums. Known for its unique roots and wide leaves, it adds aesthetic value while offering functional benefits to aquariums.
Limnobium laevigatum is perfect for open aquariums due to its floating nature, with leaves ranging from 5 to 15 cm wide. It serves as an excellent habitat for surface fish, like gouramies, thanks to its long, decorative roots. In aquariums with adequate nutrients and light, new leaves will appear above the water's surface. If the plant grows too large, some leaves may need to be removed to allow light to reach plants beneath it.
Its slow growth when nutrient levels decrease makes it an excellent indicator of nutrient availability in the aquarium. Limnobium laevigatum is ideal for adding greenery and improving the overall environment for your aquatic pets.
