As a juvenile, it displays a tan body with vibrant highlights of yellow, blue, and white. • Distinctive Coloration: The juvenile's body is tan with beautiful highlights of yellow, blue, and white. As it matures, it will develop a darker, solid body color, with a blue tail and golden-yellow tips on its dorsal and anal fins.

• Temperament: Generally peaceful, but may become aggressive towards other tangs, especially those of similar size or shape. It is best kept as the only surgeonfish in the aquarium.

• Reef Compatibility: This species is considered reef-safe and will not harm corals. It is a natural algae scraper, using its bristle-like teeth to clean live rock surfaces.

• Diet: An herbivore that requires a diet rich in marine-based seaweed and algae. Supplementing with dried seaweed, flakes, and other vegetable matter is essential for its health and to reduce aggression.

• Care Level: Moderate. Providing a proper diet can help prevent diseases like Head and Lateral Line Erosion (HLLE).

• Aquarium Requirements: A minimum of a 70-gallon aquarium is required to provide ample swimming space and live rock for grazing and hiding.
