The Two-Colored Blenny (Ecsenius bicolor) is a charming and charismatic species, cherished for its unique coloration and endearing personality.

Also known as the Bicolor Blenny or Red Tail Blenny, this fish is named for its distinct two-toned body. The front half is typically a blue or dull brown, while the back half is a contrasting dull orange to bright orange or yellow. This medium-sized specimen, typically 2" to 3" in length, is a hardy and active fish that will add character to any home aquarium.

• Distinctive Coloration: The body has a clear color split, with the anterior half being a blue or purple-brown color and the posterior half being a vibrant orange.

• Temperament: Generally a peaceful tank member. However, it can be territorial with other blennies, smaller gobies, or dartfish, and is best kept as a single specimen. It is known for its fun and interesting personality and amusing "perching" behavior on rocks.

• Reef Compatibility: Considered reef-safe with caution. When underfed in smaller tanks, it may occasionally nip at the mantles of clams or fleshy large polyp stony (LPS) corals.

• Diet: Primarily an herbivore. Its diet should include vegetable matter like frozen and dried foods containing marine and blue-green algae. It will also help control algae growth in the aquarium.

• Care Level: Easy. This is a hardy species that is a good choice for beginner aquarists.

• Aquarium Requirements: It requires a tank of at least 30 gallons with scattered rocks for perching and hiding. A tightly sealed lid is recommended to prevent it from jumping out of the aquarium.
